MEET THE ADMINS

Jody Vane

Jody Vane joined Cobb Moms Helping Cobb 9 years ago and was an active member who would assist the original founder of the group supporting families with various requests for help. Six years ago, Jody began volunteering formally as an administrator of the group and currently serves as the President of the newly formed non-profit, Cobb Moms Helping Cobb, Inc.

After being a nanny for over 30 years, Jody made a major career change and is now the Operations Manager and Executive Assistant for a small non-profit assisting students with higher education. Jody spent many years in a variety of volunteer positions; the neighborhood HOA, Boy Scouts and with various committee and board roles on the PTA/PTSA and high school band booster association.

As a caregiver and a mother, Jody has always felt drawn to helping others and especially wanting to be sure that the children of the community have what they need to be safe and cared for and thrive. Jody grew up in a divorced household as a young child and now has a grown son of her own. After being faced with many of life’s burdens herself, both as a child and later as an adult in a difficult marriage, Jody identifies with some of the challenges that are often encountered by our families. Jody feels so thankful for the love and support of family and friends throughout the years and recognizes that not everyone has that foundation. This is one of the many reasons she feels it is so important for our community to come together and give the strength and support that many of our families are lacking.

Courtney Morrel

Courtney has been a member of Cobb Moms Helping Cobb for 10 years. She first started as a volunteer that would help make payments and deliver groceries. As time went on, she was able to contribute more and wanted to give back more and now serves as the secretary of Cobb Moms Helping Cobb.

Courtney is a proud single mom to 3 kids that attend Marietta City Schools. She currently serves as the Enrichment Coordinator for the school district.

It gives Courtney joy to help families and give them a step up. She was in a similar spot after her divorce and a group like Cobb Moms helped her at the time. That help was pivotal during a precarious time and helped her get to the point where she can help other families in crisis.

In her spare time, Courtney loves to hike, spend time with her family and watch football.

Katie Hurn

Katie Hurn has been a member of the Cobb Moms Helping Cobb Facebook group for 5 years and has been an administrator for the group for 3 1/2 years. She is currently serving as the Treasurer of Cobb Moms Helping Cobb Inc while maintaining her administrative duties in the group.

Although Katie has served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations, she finds her work with CMHC to be the most rewarding.  Raised by a single working mother, Katie recognizes the strength and resilience of the parents served by Cobb Moms Helping Cobb and admires their resourcefulness in meeting the needs of their families.

Katie is married and has two college aged children. She works part time as an office manager for a small engineering firm. In her spare time, Katie enjoys hiking, spending time with family, and playing with her dog.
